FEAT OF CLAY

Intrigued by Chicago’s distinctive street grid, I was inspired to make a series of works titled Feat of Clay. These maps, fashioned of clay, depict the street grid in various neighborhoods I encountered while walking through Chicago. This series includes a clay map of the Northcenter neighborhood, where the Prak Sis gallery is located. Street size is indicated by the height of the ceramic gridlines, giving the urban topography a sense of depth and dimension. I have included neighborhoods I have a personal connection to, such as Lakeview, Ravenswood, Edgewater, and more from my travel.
